The answer will depend on how much money you received during the year. Keep in mind that both severance pay and unemployment benefits are taxable. Any accumulated vacation or sick pay that is paid out to the employee can also be taxable. You can go to www.irs.gov for more information. You may contact our office to schedule an appointment if you have further questions or if you need assistance with this issue.

The amount will vary depending on 3 Major Factors: Your Age, Filing Status, and Type of Income You Receive. For example if you are single and under 65 years of age, and earned at gross income of least 8,950 then you need to file. And if you were 65 years or older and had a gross income of at least 10,300 you need to file.
